Marshall Tyner
MAXTON — Marshall Tyner, 66, of Maxton, passed away March 11, 2013.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the Union Light Baptist Church in Maxton, the Revs. Bernard Locklear and Carson Smiling officiating. Burial will follow in the Faith Community Baptist Church Cemetery.
Marshall was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Sampson County. A son of Etta B. Butler Tyner and the late Willard June Tyner, he was a simple man that loved farming. He was a dedicated employee for many years with Carroll’s Foods. He served as a faithful member of Faith Community Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing, racing and gardening. Marshall was a devoted family man that truly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary “Susie” Goins Tyner of the home in Maxton; three sons, Dean Marshall Tyner of Maxton, Phillip Tyner and wife Chenoa of Lumberton, and Brad Tyner and wife Rebecca of Maxton; his mother, Etta B. Tyner of Maxton; a brother, David Earl Tyner of Pembroke; his sisters, Shirley T. Cummins and husband R.C. of McColl, S.C., Bonnie Locklear and husband Cleave of Pembroke, and Nancy Oxendine of Pembroke; 10grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
The visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Union Light Baptist Church.
Services entrusted to Richard Boles Funeral Service in Laurinburg.
