Winfield Sampson
GRANBURY, TEXAS — Winfield Sampson, 77, of Granbury, passed away March 10, 2013, in Granbury.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Long Creek Cemetery in Hood County, Texas.
Sampson was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Pembroke, N.C., to Tracy Sampson and Bessie Mae Brayboy Sampson. He married Donna Bowlin on Sept. 3, 1982.
Sampson was preceded in death by his parents, Tracy and Bessie Sampson; a brother, John Sampson; and a daughter, Patricia Corum.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Sampson of Granbury; a son, Donald Sampson of Granbury; a daughter, Ann Thompson of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Melvin Sampson and wife Mary Jo of Roebuck, S.C.; his sister, Naomi Hardin and husand Jack of Lumberton, N.C.; a brother, Elery Sampson and wife Fronie of Pembroke, N.C.; a brother, Aubrey Sampson and wife Anna of Pembroke, N.C.; a sister, Ilene Richards and husband Bob of Florence, S.C.; a brother, Anslem Sampson and wife Beverly of Pembroke, N.C.; a sister, Dianne Harke and husband Herman of Fredericksberg, Va.; and five grandchildren.
The visitation with family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wiley Funeral Home.
