Della Mae Carter

Lumberton

Della Mae Carter, 67, of 101 Sanford St., died Sept. 16, 2012, at Southeastern Hospice House.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel in Lumberton, the Revs. Fredrick Dunn and Jason Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Chavis family cemetery.

She was a member of the Living Waters Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Fredrick Dunn and Co-Pastor Jason Chavis.

Carter was born Nov. 21, 1944, in Lumberton, the daughter of the late Lock Harvey Carter and Luieda Bell Carter. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Carter, a son, Wally Chavis, and grandson, Dorian Taylor.

She is survived by a daughter, Carlene Chavis; two sons, Vincent Chavis and Jason (Doris) Chavis, all of Lumberton; a brother, Lockey Ray (Linda) Carter; four sisters, Shirley Jean (Bob) Hawn, Leacy (James) Locklear, Yvonne (Mel) Bosze and Sheila (Dwayne) Collins; grandchildren, Dayne Revels, Dyven (Andrea) Revels, Audreanna (Aaron) McLean, Amelia Chavis, Chardella Chavis, Justine Chavis, Angel (Cecil) Parker, Darius Taylor, Dionte Rogers; four great-grandchildren, Victoria Parker, Aniyah Taylor, Zamyiah Rogers and Baby McLean; a great-godchild, Devon Rogers; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton.

Jesse Ray Bridgeman

Laurel Hill

Jesse Ray Bridgeman, 72, of Laurel Hill, died Sept. 17, 2012, at home.

The memorial will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, the Rev. Lamar Smith officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Bridgeman was born in Robeson County on Feb. 11, 1940. He was the son of the late James Thad Bridgeman and Mary Jackson Bridgeman and the husband of 48 years to the late Linda Sue Ivey Bridgeman.

He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. He worked in maintenance with the Campbell Soup Company, retiring after many years of service. Jesse was an avid outdoors man, enjoyed fishing at the beach, horseback riding, farming and livestock.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Thad Bridgman Jr.; and a sister, Ann Sanderson.

Surviving are his two sons, Michael Bridgeman and wife Tammy of Laurel Hill, Paul Bridgeman and wife Kimberly of Laurel Hill; two daughters, Suzanne B. Williams of Laurinburg, and Taylor Locklear Hatcher and husband Bradley of Laurinburg; two sisters, Mary Ruth Bridegman of Laurel Hill, Irene Sessoms of Hamlet; six grandchildren, Brad Bridgeman, Stormie Singleton, Madeleine Singleton, Christina Freeman and husband Chadd Freeman, Christopher Bridgeman, Jessi Ann Hatcher; a great-grandchild, Daughton Freeman; and a god-grandchild, Brayden Lane Richardson.

The visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday before the service at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

Larry Harris, 54, of Maxton, died Sept. 16, 2012.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Prospect United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Audrey Harris of the home; a son, Larry Kemp Harris of the home; a daughter, Krystal Adair Harris of the home; two brothers, Gregory Harris of Red Springs and Prentis Harris Jr. of Maxton; and a sister, Elesia Tyner of Maxton.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Prospect United Methodist Church.
