Loretta Lee Hayden, 52, of Laurinburg, passed away Sept. 25, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.

The funeral will be 7 p.m. today at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Loretta was born Aug. 24, 1960, in Beaufort, S.C. She was the daughter of Patricia Ann Bishop, the late Lonnie L. Simmons and stepdaughter of the late Otto W. Bishop.

She was a registered nurse who served with Scotland Memorial Hospital and Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She also served as a nursing educator. She remained a member of the Rich Acres Christian Church in Martinsville, Va., after moving to Laurinburg.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Autumn D. Bishop.

Loretta is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Lynne Simmons and fiancé Aaron Leviner, both of Laurinburg, and Meridith Courtney Dallas Hayden of Pembroke; a son, Geoffrey Paul of Pennsylvania; her mother, Patricia A. Bishop of Martinsville, Va; a brother, Paul E. Bishop of Graham; two sisters, April J. Bishop of Pulaski, Va., and Spring R. Bishop of Raven, Va.; five grandchildren, Callan, Austin, Violet, Donnie and Julia; a nephew, David Bishop; and a niece, Destiny Snow.

The visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today before the service at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
