Bruce Eugene Naylor

Lumberton

Bruce Eugene Naylor, of Lumberton, passed away, Oct. 12, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 1, 1928, in Sampson County, to the late Tilghman Naylor and the late Gurda Daughtry Naylor. He was self-employed as the owner operator of Naylor Tom’s Sales Inc.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Floyd Memorial Chapel, the Revs. David Elks and Joe Bounds officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.

Naylor was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He retired after 57 years with Tom’s Food Sales, Inc. He enjoyed traveling to the beach and spending time with family and friends. He was also an ordained deacon at East Flat Rock Baptist Church in East Flat Rock, N.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Gary Bruce Naylor and two brothers, Paul G. Naylor and Ray R. Naylor.

Naylor is survived by his wife, Maxine Blackmon Naylor of the home; a daughter, Beverly Naylor Fellers and husband Johnny of Camden, S.C.; his son’s wife, Julie Sawyer of Dillon, S.C.; four brothers, James T. Naylor of Sanford, Floyd Naylor of Raleigh, Donnie Naylor of Roseboro, and Johnny Naylor of Winston-Salem; a sister, Faye Barefoot, of Roseboro; four grandchildren, Brian Naylor and wife Michele of Florence, S.C., Brad Fellers and wife Jessica of Matthews, Molly F. Eckenroth and husband Kyle of Camden, S.C., and Philip Naylor and wife Lauren of Charlotte; and seven great-grandchildren, Ella Naylor, Alaina Naylor, Hampton Naylor, J.B. Fellers, Liz Eckenroth, Ellie Eckenroth, and Rex Naylor.

The visitation will follow services at graveside.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Lumberton, P.O. Box 938, Lumberton, N.C. 28359.

Jacksonville, Fla.

M.C. Spears, 67, of 10840 Stanton Hill Drive East, formerly of Fairmont, died Sept. 9, 2012, in Shands Jacksonville Hospital .

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Worley Mortuary Chapel, the Revs. Jerry Arnette and Thomas Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmont Community Cemetery .

Survivors are his wife, Ozella Jones Spears of the home; a daughter, Sharon Ragland of the home; a son, Carl Bernard Spears of Rochester, N.Y.; two brothers, Junior Spears of Lumberton and Joseph Spears of Orrum; Four sisters, Ethel Mae Taylor of Charlotte, Lula Patterson of New York, N.Y., Ann Nealey of New York and Maggie Spears of Lumberton; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Worleys Mortuary in Fairmont.

Wilton Locklear

Shannon

Wilton Locklear, 85, of 654 Jacqueline Road, died Oct. 12, 2012, at his home.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at God’s Holy Assembly Church, the Rev. Hedrick Jones and Bishop Gerald Locklear officiating. Entombment will follow in the Locklear family cemetery at the residence.

He is survived by eight sisters, Mary Locklear, Christine Gibbs, Emma Gail Jones, Othella Locklear, Catherine Hammonds and Barbara Ann Chavis, all of Shannon, Helen Fay Clark of Mount Airy and Ruth Ann Jacobs of Lumberton; six brothers, John Willie “Fuzz” Locklear, Charles W. Locklear, Gary Nelson Locklear, Author Jr., and Ricky Nelson, all of Shannon and Robert Locklear of Red Springs.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Boles Funeral Home.

Ella Vivian McCoy

Maxton

Ella Vivian McCoy, 64, of 57 Fancy Drive, died Oct. 10, 2012, at Pembroke Care and Rehabilitation.

The funeral will be Tuesday at Piney Grove Methodist Church, the Rev. Tonya Tate officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Willie McCoy of the home; a daughter, Shaneda Southern of the home; a son, Jalial Ferguson of the home; three sisters, Lisa Southern and Tonya Tate, both of Winston-Salem, and Sherri Jones of California; and four brothers, Darryl Southern of Winston-Salem, Barry Southern of Jamaica, N.Y., James McDougald of High Point and Gerald McCormick of Charlotte.

The visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at L.E. Floyd Funeral Home.
