Oneder Revels Locklear, 81, of Golden Living Center, 1555 Willis Ave., departed this life on Oct. 20, 2012.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Church of God, the Revs. Kary Wilkins and Jeffrey Locklear and Bishop Ronald Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Locklear was born on Sept. 1, 1931, in Robeson County. She was the daughter of the late William “Billy” and Novella Revels.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Melton Locklear; a son, Milton Todd Locklear; two grandsons, Herman Melton Shook and Corey Wayne Locklear; seven brothers, Luther, Lonnie, Jessie, Broadus, Carson, Percil and Herdman Revels; five sisters, Susan Jane Player, Nora Jane Phelps, Mantha, Annis and Essie Locklear.

Locklear is survived by three daughters, Revonda Shook and husband Ricky of Wade, Donna Allen of Raleigh and Venita Locklear of Cary; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Locklear of Lumberton; a brother, Romey Lee Revels of Lumberton; a sister, Dora Adams of Lumberton; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rock Church of God, 2209 W. Carthage Road, Lumberton, N.C. 28360.

Peggy Joyce Hardin, 70, of 330 Rozier Church Road, departed this life on Oct. 19, 2012, at UNC Chapel Hill Burn Unit.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel in Lumberton, the Rev. Roger Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardin family cemetery.

Hardin was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Robeson County. She was the daughter of the late Pearl and Narnie Mitchell Locklear.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonell Hardin; three brothers, Bennie, Thoncee and Robert Locklear; seven sisters; Cora Locklear, Beatrice, Stout, Ruby Brummett, Judy Lawson, Lillian Bailey, Gracie Lee Stout and JoAnne Locklear; a grandson, Jay Flores; and a granddaughter, Ronita Hunt.

Peggy leaves to cherish her memories, nine children, Wanda Hardin, Sheila Hardin Hunt, Kimberly, Wendy and Candice Hardin, Donell, Timothy, William and Willie Hardin; a grandson reared in the home, Isaac Cody Hardin; also left behind are two brothers, Leon Locklear and Bobby Johnson; five sisters, Blanche McNeill, Carolyn McNeill, Marcella Strickland, Jean Lewis and Brenda McDole; 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton.

Maxton

Curline Fields, 69, of 105 Roxi Lane, was born May 2, 1943, to the late Christine Locklear and George Rubith Locklear. She departed this life to go be with Jesus on Oct. 21, 2012.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Mount Herbon Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Along with her parents, Curline was preceded in death by her daughter, Endora Fields; three sons, Larry Locklear, Tony Locklear, and Wesley Wendell Fields; three brothers, Fuller Locklear, Hairl Locklear and Marshall Locklear; and two sisters, Lois Heeb and Ruby Neil Locklear.

She is survived by her husband of 50 loving years, Wesley H. Fields; three daughters, Paula Fields, Marcella Fields and Jessica Fields, all of Maxton; a son, Patrick Fields of Maxton; two sisters, Wanda L. Kerns of Maxton and Gerline Thomas of Sanford; three brothers, George H. Locklear, Bristol Locklear, and R.L. Locklear; eight loving grandchildren; 15 loving great-grandchildren; a very special daughter-in-law, Orlinda Fields; two special nieces, Kristy Jones and Felicia Jones, both of Maxton; a special friend Minnie Miller; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Services are being provided by Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke.

Hubert M. Stone, 90, of 3105 Tobacco Road, died Oct. 21, 2012, at his home.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barnesville Baptist Church, the Rev. John Spence officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont.

Stone was born July 17, 1922, in Robeson County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Stone and Lula Stone; his wife, Jean Walters Stone; and two grandchildren, Ashleigh and Brian.

He is survived by a son, Hubert “Butch” Stone of Center, Ky.; seven daughters, Teddy Stone of Fairmont, Betty Williamson and husband Jimmy of Cerro Gordo, Stormy Jones of Winnabow, Melody Bullock and husband Terry of Lake View, S.C., Dixie Gurkin and husband Earl of Leland, Jackie Bass and husband Horace of Lake View and Starla Graves and husband Robert of Taylorsville, Ky.; a sister, Mavis Branch of Orrum; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Funeral Services.

George Milton Russ Sr., 85, of Dillon, S.C., formerly of Rowland, died Oct. 21, 2012, at Regency Hospital in Florence, S.C.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Dogwood Baptist Church, the Rev. Roger Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

He was born April 27, 1927, in Bladen County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Russ and Maude King Russ; his wife, Gladys Mitchell Russ; and a son, Thomas Eugene Russ.

He is survived by four daughters, Judy Wyman, Brenda Jones, Terry Cox and husband Perry, all of Dillon and Denise Hutto and husband Michael of Mullins, S.C.; two sons, George Russ and wife Rose of Hope Mills, N.C., and Leslie Russ of Dillon; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dogwood Baptist Church at 520 Dogwood Church Road in Rowland.

Judy L. Vick, 66, of 403 Pine St., died Oct. 20, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Surviving are three sons, Jack and John C. Vick, both of the home, and Ira Adam Vick of South Carolina; a sister, Ruth Hammonds of Lumberton; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Esba Leggett Bennett, 89, of rural Paris, Ill., died Oct. 21, 2012, at Paris Community Hospital.

Mary Thelma Hester, 81, of Bladenboro, died Oct. 20, 2012.

She is survived by her husband, Broadus Hester Sr.; and a son, Broadus Hester Jr.
