Jessica Jackson Barfoot, 26, of Southport, passed away Oct. 23, 2012.
A memorial will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Service Chapel in Southport, Mike Lucas officiating. A private internment will be held at Cape Fear Memorial Park.
Jessica was born Sept. 2, 1986, in Robeson County to Ronald Clifton “RC” Jackson and Jennifer Messer Smith. She was raised in Orrum and had lived in Southport since 1990. Jessica attended South Brunswick Middle and High School and graduated from Brunswick Community College, where she earned the degree of Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked for Well Care and Brunswick Cove Living Center. Jessica was married to her husband Michael “Mike” Barfoot Jr. on Oct. 20, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her father, R.C. Jackson and a brother, David Blake.
Surviving are her husband, Michael “Mike” Barfoot of the home; her mother, Jennifer Smith and husband Leon of Southport; two daughters, Kali Barfoot and Audrey Cameron; a stepson, Christian Barfoot; a stepdaughter, Sara Barfoot; two brothers, Michael Jackson and wife Kim of Orrum, and Randy Jackson and wife Jennifer of Fort Belvoir, Va.; her paternal grandmother, Grace Jackson of Orrum; maternal grandmother, Bonnie Messer of Supply; maternal grandfather, Ira Leon Messer of South Carolina; mother-in-law, Lori Warner and husband Bryan of Supply; father-in-law, Mike Barfoot Sr. and wife Kimberly of Burgaw; and a brother-in-law, Kyle Leigh Warner of Supply.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the home, 5020 Cagney Lane, Southport.

A memorial for Wanda W. Hickman, 67, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
Hickman, who was born Nov. 17, 1944, in Orangeburg, S.C., passed away on Oct. 23, 2012. She was a daughter of the late John H. Whitaker and Nermae Carter Whitaker. Hickman was an administrative assistant in the banking industry.
Hickman is survived by her husband, James L. Hickman; a daughter, Heather H. Parsons (Chevis) of Columbia; a sister, Shelia W. McIntyre (Randy) of Wilmington; brother-in-law, Gene Hickman (Narda) of Virginia Beach, Va.; two nieces, Kimberly McIntyre (John Giddo) and J. Kendall McIntyre.
She was predeceased by her parents and nephew, Kristopher D. Rucker. As a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, she will be missed by many.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Funeral Home Chapel.

Ava Gray Pittman Britt, of Lumberton, passed away Oct. 24, 2012, at her home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Long Branch Baptist Church, Pastor Jeff Broadwell officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
She was born on May 22, 1927, in Robeson County to the late Walter Pittman and the late Ada Capps Pittman. Although many birthdays passed, she always remained forever the age of 39.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dixon Britt Sr.; three brothers, Elmer Pittman, Lloyd Pittman, and Hilton Pittman; and a sister, Ilene Griswold.
Britt is survived by her son, Dixon Britt Jr. and wife Betty Karl of Fairmont; two daughters, Sandra Britt Owen and husband Harry, and Brenda Britt Prease and fiancé Hollis Britt, all of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Samuel Dixon Britt and wife Brittany, and Michelle Stone Morgan and husband Andy, all of Lumberton; two great-grandchildren, Josh Morgan and Maddox Britt; and special friend, Frances Ivey of Lumberton.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St., in Lumberton.

Anna Klein Martin, 89, of Lawton, Mich., passed peacefully on Oct. 17, 2012, in her sleep.
Private services will be held for family only.
She was born on 1923 in Michigan, and worked at AT&T for 25 years until retiring in 1972. She then moved to North Carolina and started Gunmar Machine with her husband and son until her retirement in 1987. Anna was involved in numerous church and senior activities.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents, Oscar and Clara Klein; and a grandchild.
Martin is survived by her children, Julia Tobias and her husband Tom, Mary Covell and her husband Donald, Pat Menge and her husband George, Laurie Martin, all of Michigan; a son, Dennis Martin and his wife Joanne of Lumberton; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Edward “Ed” Smith Wilkes, 87, passed away Oct. 20, 2012, at his residence.
The funeral was held Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Fort Valley, the Rev. Ellis Carpenter officiated. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Raleigh Memorial Park in Raleigh, the Rev. Ron Holland officiating.

Mary Sue Horne, 87, of Lumberton, died Oct. 25, 2012, at GlenFlora Nursing Home.
The funeral will be noon Saturday at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton. Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne Horne and Gary Horne, both of Lumberton, and David Horne of Fairmont; and a grandchild.

William Daniel “Bill” McPhaul, 76, of 403 N. Edinborough St., died Oct. 23, 2012, in Carolina Inn at Village Green.
A memorial will be 11 a.m. today at Antioch Presbyterian Church in Red Springs, the Revs. Mike McGehee and David Hudson officiating.
McPhaul was a member of the Red Springs Fire Department for many years, serving as chief from 1980 until 1997. He was also a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church. McPhaul also helped start the Red Springs Historical Museum.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy McPhaul of Red Springs; a son, Danny McPhaul of Red Springs; a sister, Frances McPhaul McMillan of Red Springs; three grandchildren, Laney, Kade and Tanner; and six nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the memorial.
