Edward “Ed” Smith Wilkes, 87, of Bryon, Ga., passed away Oct. 20, 2012, at his residence.

The funeral was held Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Fort Valley, the Rev. Ellis Carpenter officiated. Burial will be at 2 p.m. today in Raleigh Memorial Park in Raleigh, the Rev. Ron Holland officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those so inclined may give to Gideons International or to their favorite charity, and know that the Wilkes family appreciates such kindness.

Ernest Worth Warner, 89, of Raleigh, formerly of Clarkton, died Oct. 26, 2012.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clarkton Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Clarkton Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Warner of the home; three sons, Ernest W. Warner Sr. of Apex, Micheal W. Warren of Raleigh and Ronald G. Warner of Carrboro; and eight grandchildren.

Lula Mae Bullard, 80, of 1802 McMillian Road, died Oct. 26, 2012, at her residence.

The funeral will be 8 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Brothers Steve Locklear, Bobby E. Locklear and Tracy Bullard officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Preston Cemetery.

She is survived by her mother, Ethel C. Locklear of the home; three daughters, Jacquelene Locklear, Veronica Ann Bullard and Carmen Bullard, all of Maxton; a son, Marvin Bullard of Maxton; two brothers, Joe T. Locklear of Rowland and Wayne Locklear of Pembroke; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home.

Ronald D. Thompson, 54, of 52 Don Drive, died Oct. 24, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Mission Baptist Church in Rowland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Is survived by his wife, Natoria Thompson of the home; four daughters, Natelia N. Locklear of Pembroke, Melissa Locklear of Red Springs, and Quanda Thompson and Laurie Ann Huggins, both of South Carolina; his mother, Josephine Thompson of Pembroke; two brothers, James C. Thompson of Rowland and Mark Thompson of Lumberton; two sisters, Deborah Deese and Jo Ann Thompson, both of Pembroke; and six grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke.
