Woodrow L. Scott

Lumberton

Woodrow L. Scott, 94, of 740 U.S. 74 West, died peacefully in his home on Oct. 29, 2012.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel in Lumberton, the Rev. Grady Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Scott was born in Robeson County on July 7, 1918, a son of the late John L. and Ida Lowery Scott.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Scott; a son, Shorty Scott; two daughters, Sarah Lois Brewer and Janice Oxendine; six brothers; and two sisters.

Scott leaves to cherish his memories, seven sons, Stonie Scott, Woodrow Scott Jr., Ronald Lee Scott, Kenny Dial, James Brewer Jr, all of Lumberton, and Donald Earl Scott of California and Leon Chavis of Rocky Mount; two daughters, Carol S. Locklear and Tammy Brewer, both of Lumberton; a sister, Bessie Sampson of Lumberton; a brother, Barney Scott of Lumberton; 27 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Tanyel Locklear; and all of the nurses at Native Angels Hospice Services.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.

Ronnie Watts II

Lumberton

Ronnie Lynn Watts II, 37, of Lumberton, passed away Oct. 29, 2012, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Floyd Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

He was born on May 27, 1975, in Robeson County to Ronnie Lynn Watts and Wanda Turner Watts.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Margaret Turner and Willie Turner; an aunt, Barbara Lewis; and his fraternal grandfather, Joe Watts.

Watts is survived by his parents, Ronnie Lynn Watts and Wanda Turner Watts of the home; two sisters, Kim Brigman and husband Ashley, and Jessie Bailey, all of Lumberton; six nieces; and his fraternal grandmother, Cletus Watts.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., Lumberton.

Bernice Rhodes Bullock, 80, passed away on Oct. 28, 2012, at WoodHaven Nursing Center in Lumberton.

A memorial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Floyd Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Joe Bounds and Dr. David Elks officiating.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1932, in Robeson County to the late John Brown Rhodes and the late Sallie Ivey Rhodes. She was previously employed as a bookkeeper for Business Linen Supply Co.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Bass.

Bullock is survived by her husband, N.H. Bullock of the home; two daughters, Joyce Bullock Lepore and husband Robert of Ambler, Pa., and Janet Bullock Bennett and husband Ronald of Lumberton; a brother, John B. Rhodes of Cary; six sisters, Estalene Barnes of Lumberton, Betty Ivey of Proctorville, Lavice Lee of Fairmont, Rosa Phillips of Lumberton, Patsy Bullock of Orrum and Ann Grice of Lumberton; four grandchildren, Kelly Edwards, Heather Haney, Mary Bennett, and Sally Bennett; and four great-grandchildren, Haley Rogers, Ethan Edwards, Cameron Edwards, and Hannah Edwards.

The visitation will follow the service.

Lavonia Sealey Rigsbee, 81, of Lumberton, passed away on Oct. 30, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton, the Rev. David Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.

She was born on May 7, 1931, in Robeson County to the late Rembert F. Sealey and the late Edith Attaway Sealey. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lander Rigsbee; and a brother, Felton H. Sealey.

Rigsbee is survived by her son, David L. Rigsbee of Greenville; a daughter, Ann Rigsbee Holec and husband David of Greenville; a brother, Daniel F. Sealey of Lumberton; and three sisters, Grace S. Scott of Hartsville, S.C., Joyce S. Oliver and Carolyn S. Jones, both of Lumberton.

The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, one hour prior to the service at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Godwin Heights Baptist Church, 704 Godwin Ave., Lumberton, N.C., 28358.

John Wesley Jones, 57, of 40 Marion Road, died Oct. 28, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hilly Branch Baptist Church, the Revs. J.H. Dunham and James Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Moores Landing.

He is survived by his father, Johnnie Jones; a brother, Henry Lee Jones; and five sisters, Charlotte Williams, Carolyn McCormick, Maxine Ellis, Betty Doris Morrison and Eileen Jones.

The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hills Funeral Home and other times at 85 Wilkerson Road in Lumberton.
