Joel Layton Lewis, 71, of 10718 Shannon Road, died Nov. 13, 2012, at Duke Medical Center in Durham.
The celebration of life will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Boles Funeral Home, the Revs. Willie Scott, Dewayne Lowery and Hedrick Jones officiating. The funeral and interment will take place at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Lewis of the home; a daughter, Vivian McNeil; four brothers, Wilton G. “W.G.” Lewis of Red Springs, Jimmy Lewis, Milton Lewis and Kenny Lewis, all of Shannon; a sister, Geraldine Starling of Fayetteville; and two granddaughters.
The visitation will be at other times at his home or his daughter’s home in Shannon.
