Ruby Oxendine Tireman

Rock Hill. S.C.

Ruby Oxendine Tireman, 86, of Rock Hill, passed away Dec. 7, 2012, at Harbor Chase Assisted Living.

A memorial for Tireman will be 3 p.m. Friday at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 S. Anderson Road, Rock Hill, S.C., the Rev. Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Tireman was born in McDonald, N.C., the daughter of the late James E. Oxendine and Esther Strickland Oxendine. She was a member of Catawba Baptist Church and a U S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean War. She was a lifetime member of the U.S. Marine Corps League and DAV. She was a retired teacher in North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, Tireman was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Tireman; her siblings, Myrtle Allen, James Oxendine, Vergie Goolsby, Harold Oxendine, Furmage Oxendine, Tony Oxendine and Lucilla Bates.

Tireman is survived by her husband, Henry A. Tireman; her son, Victor E. Tireman of Lawrenceville, Ga.; her daughters, Patrice A. Tireman of Greensboro, N.C.; Myra L. Schendel (Franz) of Raeford, N.C., and Erica T. Loring (Kenneth) of Cary, N.C.; her brothers, Bobby Oxendine, Johnny Oxendine, and Larry Morgan; her sisters, Barbara Ann Strickland, Linda Emmanuel, Brenda Strickland, Brenda Lynn Hunt, Tonya Hunt, and Atoya Bellamy; her grandchildren, Bryan Tireman, Mikel Bodenbender, Luis Anthony Rosario, Alesha Kraft, Kasey Loring, and Samantha Loring; and her great-grandchildren, Halie Tireman, Aaden Tireman, Brandon Paur, Dilan Bodenbender, Logan Bodenbender, Dru Rosario, Katalina Rosario, and Juan Rosario.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

The family would like to express its appreciation to the kindness and love that has been shown to Mrs. Tireman while she was at Harbor Chase of Rock Hill.
