Luverta Lewis
PEMBROKE —Luverta Carter Lewis, 92, of 310 E. Wardell St., died Jan. 10, 2013, at Pembroke Care & Rehab Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Reedy Branch Baptist Church, the Revs. Hilton Woodell and Clemmie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Lewis was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Jim and Lizzie Carter; her mother, Luverta Locklear; her husband, Wade Lewis Sr.; two daughters, Geneva Addicks and Sandra Kay Godwin; and three brothers.
She is survived by six sons, Wade Lewis Jr. and wife Hazel, Vernon Lewis and wife Sue, and Roscoe Lewis and wife Marsha, all of Rowland, James Lewis and wife Carolyn of Lumberton, Harold Lewis and wife Priscilla of Maxton, and Woodrow Lewis and wife Sue of Baltimore; two daughters, Sarah Cummings and husband Hardy of Fairmont, and Mary Justice of Rowland; a sister, Geneva Holmes of Lumberton; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.
