ROWLAND — Rosie Lee Cooper, 77, of Rowland, passed away to her Heavenly home on Jan. 14, 2013.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sycamore Freewill Holiness Church, the Revs. Floyd Hunt and Billy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Rosie was a daughter of the late Lacy and Rosie Locklear Blue. She was born Nov. 20, 1935, in Robeson County.

She was a loving mother and the beloved wife to the late Vernon Cooper. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She served as a longtime faithful member of Sycamore Freewill Holiness Church. Mrs. Cooper loved working in her flowers and garde; she enjoyed baking, traveling, fishing and sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, Brandon Locklear.

Cooper leaves behind her son, Bobby Ray Blue and wife Lorrian of Pembroke; her daughter, Ethel C. Locklear and husband Jimmy of Rowland; five brothers,Winford Blue of Wagram, Daniel Blue, Resse Blue, Clyde Blue, Lacy Blue Jr., all of Raeford; five sisters, Bonnie Porterfield of Southern Pines, Dora Lee Oxendine of Raeford, Annie Ruth Henderson of Shannon, Mizie Mae Blue and Blondie Blue, both of Raeford; her grandchildren, Bobby Ray Blue Jr., Tabitha Bacon Bonilla, second Lt. Keith Albert Bacon, Bobby Junior “BJ” Blue, Nolan D. Locklear, Chloe’ D. Locklear, Canvas Locklear, Luke A. Locklear; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The family request that memorials be made in the memory of Mrs. Cooper to the Sycamore Freewill Holiness Church.
