Edwin Humphrey

LUMBERTON — Edwin “Worth” Humphrey, 76, husband of Carlie Humphrey, passed away Feb. 1, 2013, at his residence.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Floyd Memorial Chapel, the Revs. Wayne Tyner and Raymond Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayetteville.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1936, the late Edwin J. Humphrey and the late Annie Paul Humphrey.

He formerly served in the U.S. National Guard. He also formerly managed the A&P Grocery Store.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Douglas Humphrey and wife Maria of Lumberton, and Jamie Humphrey and wife Robin of Lumberton; a daughter, Penny H. Harden and husband Dwayne of Lumberton; a brother, Carl Humphrey and wife Beth of Mocksville; a sister, Margie Spivey of Lumberton; and seven grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc. in Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Lumberton, 1310 N. Seneca St., Lumberton, N.C., 28358.
