James Locklear
PEMBROKE — James L. Locklear “Jigs”, 83, of 2660 Whistling Road, was born May 1, 1929, to the late Hannah Bell Locklear in Robeson County, and departed this life on Feb. 19, 2013, at Southeastern Hospice House.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Island Grove Baptist Church, the Revs. Larry Locklear and Grady Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anna Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Locklear was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Locklear; and a sister, Shirley Bell Moore.
Locklear leaves to cherish his memories his two daughters, Sheila K. Locklear and husband Victor Locklear, and Myrtle Faye Locklear, all of Pembroke; a son, James Michael Locklear of the home; a sister, Myrtle Ruth Locklear of Pembroke; two grandchildren, Christopher Aric Locklear and Matthew James Locklear, both of Pembroke; and a host of relatives and friends.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Thompson’s Funeral Home.
