LUMBERTON — Catherine Graham, 89, of U.S. 74 West, was born Aug. 14, 1923, and peacefully departed her earthly journey on March 4, 2013, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel in Lumberton, the Rev. Sanford Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Catherine was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who never met a stranger. She carried laughter wherever she went and was known for her freely spoken opinions, helping hand, and service to others.

She thoroughly enjoyed singing with her friends, Ivene, Pink, and Nora Bell, at local radio stations, churches, rest homes or assisted living facilities, and with the sick and elderly shut-ins.

She was a member of the Full Gospel Holiness Church in Lumberton.

Catherine was preceded in death by three sons, William Alfred Hunt, Clyde Hunt and Ronald Hunt; her parents, Narson and Daisey Lee Jones Graham; a sister, Addie Graham Locklear; two brothers, R.S. Graham and Tuby Graham; two dear nephews, Stephen Graham and Dunn Graham; two stepsisters, Ada Caulder and Quissie Mae Lowery; and an aunt, Ida Mae Jones Strickland.

Catherine is survived by six daughters, Amelia Jackson and husband Malcolm of Charlotte, Judith Hunt and husband Grady, Betty Maynor of Lumberton, Alicia Hunt and husband Alex Ray of Florida, Loretta Hagen and husband Steve of Red Springs, and Daisy Matamoros of South Carolina; three sons, Archie Sandy Hunt and wife Clara of Lumberton, George Ray Hunt of Lumberton, and Wade Donald Hunt and wife Michelle of Lumberton; 28 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Chavis, Helen Eller and husband Don of Lumberton, Virginia Durden and husband Robert of St. Pauls; four brothers, Steve Graham and wife Betty Lou of Lumberton, Thomas Graham and wife Muta of Hope Mills, Narson Graham Jr. and wife Caffie of Lumberton, J.R. Graham and wife Cinder of Lumberton; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
