Edwin Davis

PINEHURST — Edwin Wayne “Small Papa” Davis, 65, , of Pinehurst, died March 15, 2013, after a three year battle with cancer.

A celebration of his life will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Deep Creek Baptist Church in Pinehurst.

He was born in Lumberton on Feb. 11, 1947.

He was in the Coast Guard for 4 years and then was a salesman for the remainder of his working like. His hobbies were fishing, swimming, and boating. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and his greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Crawford Davis; a daughter, Christi Brumbles and husband Michael of Seven Lakes; his sons, Phillip and daugther-in-law Teresa of Greensboro, Hunter and daughter-in-law Joy of Fort Hood, Texas and Richard of Aberdeen; his father, Roy Davis; and six grandchildren Danielle, Kasey, Shay, Kate, Nathan and Tori.

The family will receive guests at the church following the service.
