FAIRMONT — The Robeson County Parks and Recreation Department recently partnered with physical education teacher candidates from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke to promote health and fitness at Green Grove Elementary School as part of the Youth Enrichment Program.

The purpose of the program is to promote physical fitness activities for students. These activities are planned to help increase agility, flexibility, coordination, strength and endurance. The teachers conducted a series of physical fitness activities for third-grade students to teach the importance of being healthy and staying active.

The teachers will conduct the same tests again in May so the students can measure their personal achievements, and the importance of daily exercise in regard to health development.
