To the Editor,

Fellow Robesonians, I am writing to you regarding the recent article on Rep. Charles Graham’s veto vote on the born-alive abortion bill. As a politician, you never win; some agree with your vote while others ridicule.

This vote was a strong for Robesonians as it shows Graham’s stance on being for the people of the county, not just a political party. Voting against Gov. Roy Cooper and an entire caucus was a bold move in order to uphold the values of the majority of Robesonians and I respect that. For a group of Lillian’s List members from Raleigh to attack our representative by looking to get a candidate to defeat him is comical.

Who is going to represent Lillian’s List as a challenger to Rep. Graham and publicly support aborting a baby after conception? Anyone who has the audacity to publicly defend Gov. Cooper in Robeson County will get defeated by a landslide. Echoing the words of Rep. Graham, my stance isn’t to shame any women, just to defend my representative on a bold stance.

During his recent re-election bid against a Republican candidate, it was said that Rep. Graham was too far left and could not work with Republican leaders. This vote shows those statements were selfish thoughts and wrongful assumptions. While this decision may have repercussions with other legislative members, moving Graham outside of the “political circle,” he stands firm inside of mine and many in Robeson County.

Rep. Graham I salute you for your stance on this and many others do as well.
