ENGAGEMENT

Barbara Chavis and the late Neal Archie Oxendine of Lumberton would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary N. Oxendine to Jerry Anthy Brayboy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brayboy of Rowland.

Oxendine is a graduate of Trismith College and works for Healthkeeperz home care and hospice.

Brayboy is a graduate from Pembroke Senior High School and is the owner of Brayboy Enterprise.

The wedding will be held at 4 p.m. April 7 at the Brayboy estate.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Branch of Orrum announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Branch, to Blaine Sealy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Sealy of Fairmont.

Branch is a graduate of Fairmont High School and Barton College and is the deputy clerk for Robeson County courthouse.

Blaine is a graduate of Fairmont High School and East Carolina University and works in the Department of Social Services.

The wedding will be held April 14, at Mt. Elim Baptist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ray Strickland of Maxton announce the engagement of their daughter, Rae Don Carol Strickland, to Jonathan Rondell Hardin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rondy Hardin of Lumberton.

Strickland is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and works for the Public Schools of Robeson County.

Hardin is a graduate of Robeson Community College and works for the Department of Correction-Scotland.

The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. on April 7 at Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Ellenora Locklear of Fairmont announces the engagement of her daughter, Donella Hedrick, to Kevin Hunt, the son of Remondie and Delane Hunt, and the grandson of Nancy Hunt and the late Weldon Hunt, all of Fairmont.

Hedrick is a graduate of Lumberton Senior High School and is currently attending the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Hunt is a graduate of South Robeson High and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He works for Robeson Community College.

WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT

Erika Lynn Revels and Cody Eagle Horse Godwin, both of Pembroke, were married on Feb. 25 at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Rev. David Sears officiated.

The wedding reception took place at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort in the Dunes Ballroom at Myrtle Beach, S.C. with music provided by the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Charlie and Ellen Revels of Pembroke. She attended Robeson Community College, and works as a respiratory therapist at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

The groom is the son of Harvey and Shelia Godwin of Pembroke. He attended UNC Pembroke as is the chief financial officer at Two Hawk Employment Services, LLC.

The maid of honor was Ashley Dew of Chapel Hill. The best man was brother of the groom, Quinn West Godwin of Chapel Hill. The flower girl was the daughter of the bride and groom, Journey Alyssa Godwin.

The bride wore a handmade dress by Celeste Sotola. The gown’s veil and train were hand sewn and laced, bead by bead, pearl by pearl, to deer leather from deer who roamed the mountains of Montana. The veil and train were also handmade by the bride and her mother-in-law of silk organza and deer leather and contained the most important symbol, the pine cone, telling the story of life. The gown is of the same deer with a corset backing. It is embellished with fresh water potato pearls flowing from the heart and cascading down to the floor while surrounding the pine cone symbol.

Following a trip to the US Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Pembroke.

Sara Elizabeth Wilkins of Lumberton and Andrew Patrick McAllister of Santiago, Dominican Republic were married at Corolla Beach, Outer Banks on Oct. 23, 2011. The Rev. Carson Hilburn officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Annette Hilburn and the late Baxter K. Wilkins and granddaughter of the late Sam and Val Rowell. She attended Lumberton High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently working on a Masters in Teaching and Curriculum through the University of Southern California.

The groom is the son of Patrick and Susan McAllister and the grandson of Vernon and Mary Dowling. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently working as an intern at the Robeson County Health Department while finishing a Masters in Public Health through New York Medical College.

The maid of honor was Kelsey Wilkins, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Ansley and Margaret McAllister, Carlyn Corbin, Lindsey Johnson, Mary Caitlin Smith, Marleny Ruiz and Lisa Vogel.

The best man was David McAllister, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Will and Timothy McAllister, Justin Corbin, Jacob Newbauer, Rivers Woodward, Jason McClelland and Timothy Bleckley.

The flower girl was Bethan Baker and the ring bearer was Cayson McAllister. Attendants were Allison and Nathan McAllister. Musicians were Ansely and Patrick McAllister. The wedding director was Jessica Bailey.

After the two return from a sailing trip around the Outer Banks and complete their degrees, they will be moving to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa to work for two years.
