Free cancer screenings

LUMBERTON — In honor of the 18th annual Oral, Head & Neck Cancer Awareness Week, which was held nationwide April 12 through April 18, Gibson Cancer Center is partnering with Gane and Karshner Family Dentistry to offer free oral, head and neck cancer screenings.

Free cancer screenings will be conducted on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Gane and Karshner Family Dentistry, located at 4309 Ludgate St. For information and to pre-register, call 910-671-5762.

Bark for Life fundraiser

walk returns Saturday

LUMBERTON — Gibson Cancer Center is hosting a Bark for Life event and walk on Saturday at Luther Britt Park, Shelter A, to raise money for Relay for Life. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. All dogs must be vaccinated and on a leash at all times and owners must clean up after their pets.

Junior Volunteer program

LUMBERTON — Southeastern Health is inviting high school students to apply for its summer Junior Volunteer program. Applications are available for pick up at the the information desk in the main lobby of the Bed Tower at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The deadline to apply is April 30.
