Veterans Day Ceremony: The Maxton North Carolina Legion Post 117 will hold its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at the Maxton Historical Grounds, at the corner of North Florence and West Graham streets in Maxton.

Run/walk fundraiser: There will be a fundraiser for Red Springs High School cross country and track and field teams. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk and run will begin at 10 a.m. at the Red Springs High School Gym. There is a $20 registration fee per person and the first 50 registrants will receive a free T-shirt. Benefit ride: A benefit ride will be held for Sheila Hammonds. Registration will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Advance Auto Parts on Roberts Ave. in Lumberton. Wrestling matches: The Lumberton Indoor Flea Market will host three wrestling matches. The doors open for VIP at 6 p.m., general admission at 7 p.m. and the match begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 a person in advance or $12 at the door. Tatanka will fight Steve Corina, Hector Sanchez will fight Hangtyme, and Devin Nicole will fight Mia Swanson. The flea market is located at 612 Second St. in Lumberton.

Rotary auction: The Fairmont Rotary Club will hold its annual auction at 6 p.m. at the Fairmont Heritage Center at 207 S. Main St. in Fairmont. Tickets cost $8 a person, which includes a barbecue plate and a $5 credit toward the auction. The proceeds will benefit the Rotary’s projects throughout the year.

Christmas Parade: Parade entries are now being sought for Fairmont’s sixth annual Twilight Christmas parade to be held on Dec. 6 in downtown Fairmont. Bands, queens, marching units, floats, antique cars, church floats, choirs, or other crowd pleasing units are welcome. The deadline to enter a unit in the parade is Friday Nov. 29. The City of Lumberton and the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater will present the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Movie at the downtown plaza. Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. The musical entertainment will be provided by The City of Lumberton “D.A.R.E. Band” and Creation Ministries of Harvest Church of the Assemblies of God. The movie “Polar Express” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the civic center and is free to the public. There will also be free horse and carriage rides, tractor hay rides, hot cocoa and cookies. Parenting program: The Southeastern Family Violence Center hosts a basic school age parenting program every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. beginning March 19 at 108 W. Ninth St. in Lumberton.
