PEMBROKE - Talk show host and former prosecutor Nancy Grace will hold court Tuesday at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Grace, one of television's best-known legal analysts, kicks off the 2006-2007 Distinguished Speaker Series at UNCP. The talk begins at 7 p.m. at the Givens Performing Arts Center. The cost for the general public is $10. Students are admitted free.
Robert Cooper, UNCP student life director, said Grace won't disappoint.
&#8220She is obviously a great speaker,” Cooper said. &#8220She will probably share issues that are relevant to the students and discuss current events. This is an opportunity for people who watch her on TV to see her live. It will also give the community the opportunity to ask her questions afterward.”
Grace hosts CNN Headline News' daily legal affairs show. She came to CNN from Court TV, where she hosts the live daily trial coverage program &#8220Closing Arguments.” Grace also has appeared as a legal expert on CNN's &#8220Larry King Live,” ABC’s &#8220The View” and &#8220The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Her book &#8220Objection!” was published in April 2005 and was an instant New York Times bestseller.
Grace joined Court TV from the Atlanta Fulton County District Attorney's Office, where she served for a decade as special prosecutor of felony cases involving serial murder, rape, child molestation and arson.
