To the Editor,
Sadly, I read the account of the death of Dr. David Richardson, my doctor for over 25 years. There aren’t enough words to express how deeply his death saddens me. He was not only a good physician but a true friend.
His bedside manner always lifted me up and assured me. He gave me much needed optimism and advice with each visit. He was a brilliant doctor, and much loved by not only me, but many, many others. He truly cared about his patients and was a special friend.
On one visit I happened to mention that one of his hunting buddies was my brother Robert Inman. He grinned and said jokingly that “I’ll forgive you for that Janet.”
I will miss his grin and his always cheesy manner that was infectious. I had great trust in him and his advice, and kind words of encouragement. His death is a great loss to our community and residents of Robeson County, but Heaven’s gain.
