Book ‘Em: Book ‘Em North Carolina, a free writers’ conference with more than 75 authors, publishers, literary agents and publicists, will be held at Robeson Community College on Feb. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

River people: UNCP will hold the River People Music and Culture Fest, a free two-day concert celebrating the American Indian heritage and culture of the Carolinas, at the Givens Performing Arts Center at 10 a.m. on Jan. 25.

The concert and artist showcase features American Indian dancers, musicians, storytellers and artisans. The musical genres range from traditional native music to rhythm and blues, gospel and jazz.
