PEMBROKE — An Eagles tribute band, Hotel California: a Salute to The Eagles. will perform at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Givens Performing Arts Center on Friday at 8 p.m.

Each concert showcases hits like “Take it Easy,” “Heartache Tonight” and “Hotel California.”

Tickets, which are available at the center’s box office, range from $15 to $30, and are $12 for children and students, $5 for UNCP students and $15 for faculty and staff. Public service providers are honored with discounted tickets.

LUMBERTON — An exhibit entitled “Reflections: Works by Jessica Clark” will on display at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater beginning Friday during scheduled programming.

Clark is a visual arts teacher at Fairgrove Middle School. All works will be available for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the theater’s educational programming.

There will be a reception on May 24 at 5:30 p.m. that will includes refreshments and light appetizers.

LUMBERTON — The Robeson County Master Gardeners will hold a plant sale on Saturday in the North State Optics parking lot at 4336 Fayetteville Road from 7 a.m. until the plants are sold out. Prices for all plants start at $2.

The sale will feature ornamental plants that are adapted to North Carolina’s climate and soil. It will also feature herbs grown by Junior Master Gardeners as well as recipes to compliment those herbs.

LUMBERTON — The second annual Comic Book, Toy and Collectibles show will be held at Biggs Park Mall on May 5 and May 6. The show will feature comic books featuring Spiderman, Avengers, and Iron Man, as well as collectible Pez dispensers, sports cards and toys dating from the 1960s to present.

Attendants can get a free appraisal of their collectibles by visiting the Emcee Conventions’ booth in Center Court.

Lumberton Auction and Estate Sales will conduct an auction of extensive and rare coins, comic books, and sports cards on May 5. Admission is free. For information, call 910-316-7251.

LUMBERTON — The Christian Faith Center will host “Praise on the Plaza,” a talent show competition, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the downtown plaza.

Participants can register in the categories of group performance, individual performance, and praise dance. Prizes include a chance to record a single with Clarence Sims of Sims Productions and a chance to be an opening act for the center’s spring concert. The cost to register is $25.

Food, games, entertainment, face painting and bouncy houses will be available.
