MAXTON — Lee Moore was recently awarded the 20th annual Linwood Singletary Memorial Scholarship by the Robeson County Crop Promotion Association in partnership with North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Robeson County Center.
Lee is a recent graduate of Purnell Swett High School and plans to attend North Carolina State University this fall pursuing a degree in Animal Science. He has experience working on his family’s farm and participating in Future Farmers of America activities.
He is the son of Eddie and Tyra Moore of Maxton.
According to Mac Malloy, Cooperative Extension field crops agent, funding for the scholarship is provided by contributions from the Robeson County Crop Promotion Association and the family of the late Linwood Singletary, who died in 1992. Singletary was a crops producer and agribusinessman in the Lumberton area. This scholarship provides $1,000 each year to a deserving Robeson County student who attends a university, college or trade school in North Carolina.
