LUMBERTON — Registration for children entering Pre-K or kindergarten for the 2013-14 school year will begin Friday at Long Branch Elementary School for students in that area.

Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31. Pre-K students must be 4 years old on or before Aug. 31. Parents should bring a certified birth certificate, current immunization record, verification of physical address, and a tribal enrollment card (if applicable) to the registration.

State law requires kindergarten students to have an up to date shot record and completed health assessment by the time school starts. The required health assessment form can be obtained from the school office or by visiting www.robeson.k12.nc.us/kha. Immunizations and health assessments will be offered by the Robeson County Child Health Plus Bus at some registrations. For information, call the child’s school or Kathryn McDaniel at 910-735-2413.

Registration dates and school locations are: Friday at Long Branch, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; March 14 at Deep Branch, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m; March 18, Rosenwald, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; March 21, Union Chapel, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; March 22, Parkton, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; March 28, East Robeson, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and March 28, Union Elementary, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
