PEMBROKE — Robeson County residents who like to shake a leg while the music plays have two options on Thursday night.
Peace in the Park, a concert series founded by Charly Lowery, the lead singer of Dark Water Rising, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Pembroke Town Park. It is the second year for the concert series, which welcomes new artists weekly, with genres ranging from blues to rock. On Thursday, Echoes of Faith and Mt. Olive Praise Team will perform gospel music.
Also on Thursday, the End of Summer Alive After Five concert will be held at the corner of Third and Water streets in downtown Lumberton beginning at 7 p.m.
The concert will feature Black Water Rhythm and Blues and other local bands. All proceeds from sales of beverages and food will go toward downtown revitalization projects.
The concerts are free and open to the public.
