Bike ride: A charity bike run will be held to benefit Savon Maultsby and Richard Biggins, assistant principals at Lumberton High School who are battling cancer. The event will be held behind the C&P Minimart on Union Chapel Road in Pembroke. Registration is $10 for one rider, $15 for two riders. Spring Fling: Southeastern Hospice will hold a Spring Fling event at the Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton beginning at 6:30 p.m. on April 8. The event will include shopping, a dinner party, door prizes and more. Tickets are $20 and proceeds benefit Camp Care. The club is located at 110 Nigel Road in Lumberton. Antique and craft expo: An antique and craft expo will be held at the Southeastern Agricultural Center and Farmers Market in Lumberton from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. For information, call 910-876-7256

Shag dance contest: The Boys and Girls Club of Robeson County will hold a shag dance contest and social beginning at 7 p.m. at Candy Sue’s in downtown Lumberton. The event is $150 to attend for couples and admission includes dinner and two drinks. All participants will be entered to win $1,000. For information, call 910-738-8474.

Memorial Day ceremony: VFW Post 8969 and Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day ceremony and awards show from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Bill Sapp Recreation Center in Lumberton. The event will raise money to benefit Fort Bragg’s Wounded Warrior program and the K&L Homeless/Disabled Veterans Home of Lumberton. Individual tickets are $25. For information, call 910-374-8689.

Shag dance lessons: The Lumberton Recreation Department will sponsor shag dance lessons with new classes starting Monday. The classes will be held in the south end of the Pine Street Activity Center. Blind support group: Sunshine Seekers is a support group that meets at 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the Pine Street Senior Center. Participants must be legally blind. VFW meeting: The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Ladies will hold its monthly meeting every fourth Saturday at noon at the Pine Street Activity Center in Lumberton. The center is located at 801 N. Pine St.
