LUMBERTON — It’s not too early to think about Christmas.

“A Robeson County Christmas Show” auditions are scheduled Aug. 11 and 12 at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater.

Directed by the theater’s resident artist, Kendrix Singletary, the show is a heart-warming, holiday musical revue that the entire family will enjoy. The show will feature a talented local cast of singers and dancers performing popular and traditional season classics.

There will be special appearances by Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, The Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, and of course Santa Claus. Rehearsals will start in September, with show dates Dec. 7-10, with school shows during the week of Nov. 27.

The show needs three female singer-dancers and three male singer-dancers. The show also will need the talents of mature and talented young-looking children ages 7 and older who dance and take direction well.

Auditions will take place at the Carolina Civic Center downtown Lumberton on Aug. 11 at 6p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Aug. 12 at 10 a.m.

Christmas songs would be appropriate for auditions but not required. Please bring accompaniment tracks — a CD player will be provided — and be ready to learn a short movement routine. All adult performers will receive a stipend at the end of the last show.

The theater is located at 315 North Chestnut St. in downtown Lumberton. Call 910-738-4339 or go to towww.carolinaciviccenter.com for full schedule.
