LUMBERTON — Lumberton native and business owner Felicia Evans Long has co-authored a book titled “Beyond Her Reflection” with author Tammy L. Woodard.

“Beyond Her Reflection” will be released on June 30 with a book launch and signing in Fort Mill, S.C., at the Hampton Inn. Pre-sales for the book began on May 8. All proceeds from pre-sales purchased through the Sweet Candy Café link will go toward the fourth annual Timothy Rodney Long Memorial Scholarship Fund and awarded to a student in Newark, N.J.

For the book, several women were selected to share their stories of challenges, loss, trials, healing and overcoming in hopes of encouraging readers facing similar situations. As one of the selected co-authors, Long, who lost her husband and business partner, Timothy, n August 2014, wrote about their life together and how she continues to process the loss without her life partner. Long hopes her story helps those who are grieving a loved one.

Sweet Candy Café marked its fifth store anniversary in November 2017.
