‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe’ coming to theater

WILMINGTON — The Opera House Theatre Company will present the musical revue “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” during various show dates this month.

Performances include three matinee shows, Sunday, July 15 and July 22 at 3 p.m. each day; and Friday and July 20 at 8 p.m. All performances are on the Main Stage of Thalian Hall, located at 310 Chestnut St. in Wilmington.

The musical, directed and choreographed by Ron Chisholm, celebrates the songs written by legendary songwriting duo, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The featured songs include “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Stand by Me” and “Spanish Harlem.”

Tickets are $32. Discounts are available for senior citizens, students, and groups of more than 10. Tickets are available at the center box office, located by the lobby. Box office hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets also can be ordered by phone by calling 910-632-2285 or online at www.thalianhall.org.
