WILIMINGTON — The Emmy-award winning educational television series “Schoolhouse Rock” will be showcased live in an all-youth musical performance at Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts.
Show times for “Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr.” will be Friday, July 20 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Saturday, July 21 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available online at thalianhall.org or by calling 910-632-2285.
Based on the 1970s educational animated TV series, “Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr.” uses the familiar and catchy songs from the cartoons to teach grammar, math, science, history, social studies and political science while telling the story of Tom, a young teacher nervously anticipating his first day on the job. Audience members can expect classic educational songs such as “Conjunction Junction” and “Interjections!”
The hour-long show is directed by LJ Woodard and musical direction by Cathy Street.
Shows will be held on the second floor of Thalian Hall in the Ruth & Bucky Stein Theatre. Thalian Hall is located at 310 Chestnut St. in Wilmington.
