LUMBERTON — A local medical clinic has received national attention.

Lumberton Radiology Consultants, which works for Southeastern Health, recently were featured in a case study by the American College of Radiology. The radiologists at LRC implemented a new system to improve communication with referring health care providers.

The system “removes the barriers to direct consultation between the provider and the radiologist,” said Dr. James Parker, the CEO of Lumberton Radiology Consultants.

“It’s an honor for the ACR to hold up our system as an example for other groups to follow, but the best thing about it is that we have improved patient care through better, more timely, communication with our providers,” Parker said.
