LUMBERTON — Events promoting health and a healthier lifestyle, and celebrating the people who have survived cancer have been scheduled this week around Lumberton.

Three events have been scheduled for the Southeastern Health’s Community Health Education Center. The center is beside Shoe Show in Biggs Park Mall, located on North Elm Street in Lumberton. — Weight loss: The Weight Loss Support Group will meet on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. For information, call 910-735-8562.

— Exercise and prevention: Southeastern Wound Healing Center Manager and Fitness Columnist Kathy Hansen will present a program about exercise and prevention on Thursday at 11 a.m. A stroll around the mall will be followed by a healthy lunch for those in attendance.

— Nutrition bingo: Community Nutritionist Cameron Karrenbauer will host nutrition bingo on Fridays and June 29 at 8:45 a.m. The event is free and wellness credit will be offered for Southeastern Health employees in attendance.

— Survivorship Day 2018: Gibson Cancer Center, an affiliate of Southeastern Health, will host its 12th annual Survivorship Day on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Robeson Community College’s Fred G. Williams Jr. Student Center in Lumberton. The free event will feature a Disney theme and breakout sessions will offer dancing and crafting.
