FAYETTEVILLE — A Lumberton woman is the suspect in the armed robbery of a Fayetteville business and is being hunted by police who are asking for the public’s help in finding her.

Police are searching for Hillary Cheyenne Carver, 23, of the 300 block of Norment Road in Lumberton, according to information provided by the Fayetteville Police Department. Carver is suspected of robbing the Sprint Store located at 7830 Good Middling Drive in Fayetteville on July 31. On that day a woman came into the store about 7:25 p.m. armed with a rifle and demanded cell phones from the clerk.

Officers obtained surveillance images from the business. Within two days of releasing the information, the Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crimestoppers Program received a tip identifying the suspect in the surveillance images as Carver. Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Robbery Unit have obtained warrants on Carver charging her with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of stolen goods. Carver is considered armed and dangerous.

Carver’s family and friends are encouraged to have her to turn herself in to law enforcement. Anyone with information concerning Carver’s whereabouts is asked to be cautious and contact law enforcement immediately.
