LUMBERTON — An informational meeting to gauge Robeson County parents’ interest in enrolling their children in a charter school has been scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Charter School Inc. will lead the meeting at the Robeson County Public Library located at 101 N. Chestnut St. in Lumberton. Steve Smith, headmaster of Columbus Charter School in Whiteville, will be present to discuss with parents how they have the choice to send their children to a tuition-free charter school that provides an alternative to conventional public education in Southeastern North Carolina.

Charter Day School Inc. is a nonprofit that operates Columbus Charter School, Charter Day School in Leland, The Douglass Academy in Wilmington and South Brunswick Charter School in Southport.
