LUMBERTON — Lumberton police believe they know the person who robbed three stores inside the city last week with the use of a firearm, including two on the same day.

According to a statement by Capt. Terry Parker, the Department’s Criminal Investigative Division identified 18-year-old Tyra Watson, whose last known was Karo Drive, Shannon, as the person who robbed two Family Dollar stores and a Dollar General.

Warrants have been issued charging Watson with three felony counts of armed robbery and, in an unrelated case, felony larceny of a motor vehicle.

Watson is accused of robbing the Family Dollar located at 1719 Roberts Ave. on Thursday at at 6:52 p.m., the Dollar General at 925 Caton Road on Saturday at 11:46 a.m. and the Family Dollar located at 1305 E. Fifth St. on Saturday at 12:04 p.m.

Police identified Watson by distributing photographs taken during one of the robberies.
