There are plenty of holiday offerings today and Saturday for those looking to get into the Christmas spirit.
The town of Pembroke will announce winners of the tree-decorating contest today and pizza will be served as part of its three-day Winter Wonderland, which began on Thursday with its Christmas parade. The night will end with popcorn and a movie at the park starting at 6:30 p.m.
The fun will continue Saturday with a full day of events. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park there will be entertainment by Robeson Rockers, the Lumbee Ambassadors, and the Sheetrock Bucket Band. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the artist market will showcase locals. Train rides, face painting, corn hole and horse shoes, and a story from Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be among the activities for children from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Big Boy’s Kitchen will be providing food all day.
Also on Saturday, Red Springs and Maxton will both celebrate the holidays with a parade and a full day of events.
From 1 to 5:30 p.m., arts and crafts vendors will set up at the Red Springs Farmers Market. Santa will make an appearance and be available for photos.
The town’s annual Christmas parade will start at 3 p.m.
The town of Maxton’s Christmas parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. Food and craft vendors, floats, music, custom cars, and school bands will be part of the holiday celebration.
