LUMBERTON — A Robeson County man is facing charges related to sex crimes against three children.

Victor Alejandro Baez, 22, of the St. Pauls area, was arrested by Robeson County Sheriff’s Office deputies about noon on Monday, according to information provided by the Sheriff’s Office. Baez is accused of sexually victimizing three children from 2013 through 2015.

Baez was charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child and with five counts of first-degree sex offense with a child, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to the Robeson County Detention Center and placed under a $280,000 bond.

Baez was supposed to make his first appearance in Courtroom 3C of the Robeson County Courthouse on Tuesday. The hearing was moved to Courtroom 4A because of a bug infestation.

Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call Detective Tiffany Spurling of the Sheriff’s Office’s Special Victims Unit at 910-671-3140.
