MAXTON — A 16-year-old has died from injuries he suffered when the golf cart he was driving was struck by a vehicle on Friday.

According to Trooper Kim Locklear, Christopher Dewayne Oxendine failed to yield the right-of-way while driving the cart on Elrod Road, between Cabinet Shop Road and Highway 710. He died later at an undisclosed hospital.
