LUMBERTON — Area residents are being offered a chance to help ensure an ample supply of blood is on hand this summer to meet patient needs.

The American Red Cross has scheduled a blood drive for 1:30 to 6 p.m. June 13 at the Walmart store located at 5070 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton.

Busy summer schedules, vacations and school breaks cause a drop in donations. Accidents and medical emergencies don’t take a summer break.
