LUMBERTON — A Maxton man has been arrested and charged with an armed robbery that occurred in 2017.

Nicholos Ray Lowery, 28, of 388 Old Baker Road, Maxton, was charged Tuesday with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy robbery dangerous weapon and felony second-degree kidnapping, according to court documents. Lowery is accused of stealing a .40 caliber Sig Sauer handgun, a cell phone and car keys at gunpoint from Corey Lowery on Dec. 7. The items stolen had an estimated total value of $580.

The report did not indicate if the two men are related.

According to the court documents, Nicholos Lowery conspired with Nakota Anthony Oxendine to commit robbery with a handgun against Corey Lowery and unlawfully confined and restrained Corey for the purpose of facilitating the commission of a robbery with a dangerous weapon.

He is scheduled to be in court on June 27.

Nicholos Lowery was also was arrested Tuesday and charged with two misdemeanors for communicating threats to a Maxton woman for almost a month, according to court documents. He is scheduled in court on June 29 on those charges.

Lowery was placed in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $77,000 bond.
