ROWLAND — Leaders of the Innovative School District have scheduled a parent and community meeting for Thursday.
The meeting is at 6 p.m. in Rowland at the Expo Center at 102 Main St. The purpose is to update the community and parents on the progress toward Southside-Ashpole Elementary School’s absorption into the ISD, which has been given control over the school for five years beginning with the 2018-19 school year. The ISD contracted with Achievement for all Children, a nonprofit headquartered in Forest City, to manage the school.
Information will be available about the partnership with Public Schools of Robeson County and the local community, the hiring of a principal and staff, and preparing for the 2018-19 school year.
ISD Superintendent Eric Hall and Achievement for All Children CEO Tony Helton will be there to provide updates and to answer questions.
Parents with children enrolled or planning to enroll at Southside-Ashpole and members of the Rowland community are encouraged to attend.
