PEMBROKE — A Pembroke man is in stable condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after his girlfriend shot him, according to Pembroke police.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday about a domestic dispute at Pembroke residence on the 200 block of Cornith Road occupied by 59-year-old Terry Jacobs and Mary Linda Chavis, 45, and then referred the call to Pembroke police.
Police Chief Ed Locklear said officers met Chavis at the home and she led them to the living room, where they found Jacobs with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Jacobs was taken by ambulance to Southeastern Regional Medical Center and then transferred to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon and jailed under a $25,000 bond.
