ST. PAULS — Four people were injured, including one seriously, on Saturday when gunshots were fired after an altercation involving two groups of men.

According to Robeson County sheriff’s Maj. Anthony Thompson, the shots were fired at 11:36 p.m. at the 301 Casino and Game Room located at 13161 U.S. 301 North, which is actually a St. Pauls address. He said investigators were told there had been an altercation between two groups of males at the Sun Do at Magnolia on U.S. 301 North.

Two men left the Sun Do and drove along U.S. 301 North to the 301 Casino and Game Room. A second group of men apparently followed them, and there was an exchange of gunfire at the business. Three men were injured in the vehicle, and one man who was inside the business was injured.

Three people were treated and released at a hospital, and the fourth person was transferred to an unidentified medical facility.

The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the names of those who were shot because the investigation continues.

The initial reporting of the story said that investigators had a suspect. It also was reported initially that the shooting occurred at the Sun Do.
