St. Pauls man faces drug charges

RED SPRINGS — A St. Pauls man is facing felony possession and other drug charges after surrendering Tuesday to Red Springs police.

Gabriel Washington Jr., 23, of 386 Community Road, was charged with felony possession of cocaine, simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of up to a half ounce of marijuana, according to Maj. Kimothy Monroe. The charges stem from warrants issued June 12.

Washington walked into the Red Springs Police Department about 1 p.m. and was arrested. He was taken before a magistrate and placed under a $7,000 secured bond.

Washington is out on bond and is due in court on July 17.
