Arrests made in shooting

ST. PAULS — Two people have been charged following a gunfight last week that left four people injured, including one who is still hospitalized.

According to Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Anthony Thompson, Dustin Holiday Cross, 20, and Austin Cross, 23, both of McLamb Street in Lumberton, have each been charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied property, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy. Each was jailed under a $150,000 secured bond.

Both were arrested Wednesday.

Dustin Cross was shot during the gunfight, treated and released from the hospital.

It was unclear their relationship. Their photographs were not immediately available.

Injured during the shootout were Michael Lynn Emanuel, 50, of Henry Hammond Road, Lumberton, who was treated and released from the hospital; Cory Lynn Emanuel, 25, of Henry Hammond Road, Lumberton, who remains at an undisclosed hospital; and Jordan Devon Cummings, 23, of Blueberry Circle, Lumberton, who was treated and released from the hospital.

Thompson said previously that shots were fired at 11:36 p.m. on June 23 at the 301 Casino and Game Room located at 13161 U.S. 301 North, which is actually a St. Pauls address. He said investigators were told there had been an altercation between two groups of males at the Sun Do at Magnolia on U.S. 301 North.

Two men left the Sun Do and drove along U.S. 301 North to the 301 Casino and Game Room. A second group of men apparently followed them, and there was an exchange of gunfire at the business.
