Home, car riddled with bullets

RED SPRINGS — Police here are asking the public for information leading to the arrest of people responsible for firing shots into a home and car on Sunday.

Officers responded about 8 p.m. to a call of shots fired and discovered a bullet-riddled home and car at 115 E. Seventh Ave., said Maj. Kimothy Monroe, of the Red Springs Police Department.

Witnesses told detectives a pink Lincoln Town car drove up to the Seventh Avenue residence, Monroe said. People got out the car and began shooting toward the home and car. Witnesses said several people had to run for cover to avoid being hit by stray bullets.

No injuries were reported. Investigators are following up on leads.
